To celebrate their 30th Anniversary in 1965, the Turvey Women’s Institute created a scrapbook about life in the village at that time.

  • I was 10years old when the WI scrap was made.I am in the Sunday school photo 4th from the left
    Also I played Joseph in Brownies Nativity( tea towel on head) Mary was Janet Brightman and next to me was Christine Taylor. I’m also in the Brownie photo 1st church parade 4th girl down from Rev Jefferies, next to me is Janet Brightman also in photo is Lis Tighe, Jane Butler, Caroline Savage, Heather Williams, Barbra Filsell,
    My sisters Sylvia and Sue Hilson are on the Red Cross cadet photos by the church , Sue is with Tess Sargent on the stage of the Village hall with at the Red cross competition ( Sue touching her ear)
