Roman Coin Hoard
A possible coin hoard reportedly found in 1826.
A coarse pot containing small copper alloy coins was reportedly found during tree planting in Turvey in 1826. The coins were illegible. Another coin found nearby dated to the reign of Constantine (306-337 AD); two coins of Elizabeth I (1558-1603) were also found, along with tradesmen’s tokens from Bedford, Turvey, Olney, Newport and Lavendon.
